3-4 glaciers
GLACIER~~ Any large mas of ice that moves slowly over land.
There are two types of glaciers valley glaciers and continental glaciers.
VALLEY GLACIER~~ A long, narrow glacier that forms when snow and ice build up high in a mountain valley.
CONTINENTAL GLACIER~~ A glacier that covers much of a continent or large island.
The two processes by which glaciers erode land are called plucking and abrasion.
PLUCKING~~ When a glacier flows over the land, plucking picks up rocks in a process.
( All ready said what abrasion is earlier on )
When a glacier melts, it deposits the sediment it eroded from the land, creating landforms.

key ideasThe two kinds of glaciers are valley glaciers and continental glaciers.
Gravity pulls sediment downhill in the process of mass movement. There are four main types of mass movement: landslides, mudslides, slump, and creep. |
